If you are a university student looking for online jobs, then this post is definitely for you. I know college is meant for learning, fun and friends along with making your future career. But it also meant a lot of financial burden.

When I came to Australia as a student, working part time helped me a lot to pay my course fees and living expenses. I was always looking to earn extra cash whenever I can. So working as a college student definitely introduces you to financial and time management.

When you are looking for job as a student, the most important factor considered is flexibility and money.

From my research, I am listing some of the jobs that you can work in your own time. Some of these pay only extra income and some exceptionally well, so choose them according to your needs.

 

Appen

This is another company that offers flexibility and accepts candidates globally. Appen basically is a translation company with small projects related to data tagging, social media evaluators, translators that can be done online. If you are good at your mother tongue, you can fetch a job as a translator. I regularly post the job offers from this company in our lifeisezy job board

 

UberEats or Uber Taxi

This is one of the most flexible jobs preferred by students. They are flexible and also highly paid. If you are good at driving and like driving; then this may be for you. This involves minimal interaction with the customer and you can make as much as you can depending on your patience and availability. Uber Eats can also be done using bike or scooter for delivery.

 

Surveys

This is one of my favorites to earn quick cash. When I am bored or waiting for an appointment, I always switch to these surveys. Some of the highly recommended are Octopus, Swagbucks, PineCone Research,Survey Junkie, and Ipsos i-Say. Sign up for all of them, be honest and do the surveys immediately as you get them.

 

Wonder

This is a web searching company. If you love searching the web for answers, then you might enjoy as a Wonder Researcher. You can log in and work in your own time.

 

Mystery Shopping

Who doesn’t like shopping? This is definitely a wonderful side gig for students. You will be given some money to shop in a particular place and then ask you to write a review of your shopping experience. The good thing is you are allowed to keep the things you bought. But keep in mind, because of its nature, there are many scams in the name of ‘mystery shopping’. So always research the company before you sign up and check whether it is registered with MSPA. There are some legitimate shopping companies like Mystryshopping(RSMA), RetailReality etc.

 

Petsitter

If you love pets and like spending time with them. Then this is for you. There are number of websites that allows you to register as a Petsitter. Some of them are Pawshake, madpaws,petcloud etc. You have to take care of the pet depending on the task given. It could walking the pet every day or feeding or taking both activities when owners are away etc.

 

Baby Sitting:

The demand for Nannies are growing these days in Australia. If you love babies and don’t mind babysitting them. Then you may enjoy being a Nanny. There are many companies that offer babysitting services. All you need to do is register in them and wait for the opportunity. This way you can earn extra income while having fun with kids. These are some of the companies who can register in babysits, findababysitter, selectsitters etc.  

 

Rev

This company helps you to become a transcriber or translator. It also offers captioning work. The basic requirements are you should be able to type fast and go through training before you get hired. They offer flexible work and can be done anytime as per your availability.

 

Testing Websites:

Do you love testing websites? If yes, then you have to read this. Some websites before going ‘live’, they want the testers to test and ensure everything on the website is functional and good. I found two companies in Australia that offer services testing websites online. You just need to register with them and when any website is open for testing, they notify you and you can start working on it from your home. The minimum pay mentioned was $20 for half hour and it may vary depending on the project undertaken. So why late? Go and register with Loop11 and Testmate. This also helps you to develop relevant skills that may need for your career.

 

Lionbridge

I know one of my friends’ work for this company. There are number of jobs advertised on regular basis with flexible working hours. It clearly mentions on the Job Description that you can work anytime you want as long as you meet weekly hour’s requirement. This company is operated across 30 countries and the pay is different for every country.

 

Touch typing:

Are you a qualified Typist? Are you good at using the right finger on each letter key? Then this is aptly for you. Typing4kids is a website that offer typing classes to students. This job is only during before or after school hours. So it helps you to use mornings or afternoons effectively while earning some cash at the same time.

 

Humanatic

If you ever heard over the phone saying ‘this call is being recorded’ that’s what you will be working on as a Call Reviewer with this company. You will be listening to a recorded phone call, reviewing and categorizing them by answering simple questions. These jobs are open worldwide.
